Performance Losses
Mycotoxins suppress feed intake, reduce FCR, impair weight gain and damage liver function — even at subclinical levels invisible to the eye.
Broad-spectrum and multi-mycotoxin protection for corn, soy and wheat-based feeds. From standard HSCAS bentonite to advanced liver-protect formulations — each program designed around your ingredient risk profile and production targets.
Mycotoxins suppress feed intake, reduce FCR, impair weight gain and damage liver function — even at subclinical levels invisible to the eye.
Aflatoxin, fumonisin and T-2 toxin weaken immune response, increasing disease susceptibility and vaccination failures in poultry and ruminant flocks and herds.
EU and MENA markets enforce strict mycotoxin action thresholds. Feed mills without documented control programs face rejected shipments and commercial liability.
Corn and soy frequently contain 3–5 mycotoxins simultaneously. Single-mode binders leave co-occurring toxins uncontrolled — requiring multi-spectrum solutions.
Broad-spectrum HSCAS bentonite binder. Effective against aflatoxin B1, fumonisin B1, and T-2 toxin. First-line defense for routine contamination scenarios and feed mills with consistent ingredient quality.
View ToxyFix →Dual-mode binder with advanced organic sequestrant technology. Targets multi-toxin co-occurrence in high-risk corn and soy. Ideal for warm-climate feed operations with variable ingredient sourcing.
View ToxyFix Plus →Complete mycotoxin management with advanced liver-protect antioxidants. For integrator operations requiring maximum performance protection under high-contamination and heat-stress conditions.
View ToxyFix Perfect →VeritasVet mycotoxin programs are built for feed operations across the Middle East and Africa — where warm temperatures, humidity during storage, and import dependency on Black Sea and South American corn and soy create year-round contamination pressure.

A mycotoxin binder is a feed additive that captures or neutralises the toxic metabolites produced by moulds in grain and forage, preventing them from being absorbed in the animal's gut. For feed mills and integrators sourcing corn, soy and cereals across the Middle East, Africa and Asia, effective mycotoxin management is a routine requirement rather than an occasional response — contamination arrives with the raw material and multiplies during warm, humid storage. VeritasVet manufactures its ToxyFix mycotoxin binder range in the EU under GMP+ certification, with technical documentation supporting each formulation.
Corn and soy frequently carry three to five mycotoxins at once, so single-mode products leave co-occurring toxins uncontrolled. The most damaging in commercial feed are aflatoxin B1 (liver damage and immune suppression, with strict EU and MENA action thresholds), deoxynivalenol (DON, or vomitoxin) and T-2 toxin (reduced feed intake and gut lesions), fumonisin (respiratory and liver effects, a high risk in stored feed), zearalenone (reproductive disruption), and ochratoxin A (kidney damage). Because these toxins differ chemically, broad-spectrum mycotoxin binders combine adsorbent and organic components to cover both polar and non-polar molecules.
Most mycotoxin binders act by adsorption — mineral clays such as HSCAS bentonite bind aflatoxin and fumonisin tightly onto their surface so the toxin passes through the animal undigested. Because clays alone are less effective against DON and zearalenone, advanced binders add organic sequestrants (yeast cell-wall glucomannans) and, in premium tiers, liver-protect antioxidants that support recovery from subclinical exposure. VeritasVet matches binder strength to measured risk: ToxyFix for routine broad-spectrum control, ToxyFix Plus for elevated contamination and variable inputs, and ToxyFix Perfect for integrator operations under high-contamination and heat-stress conditions.
The best mycotoxin binder for a given operation depends on the species, the ingredient risk profile and the production stage. In poultry, aflatoxin and T-2 toxin drive performance and vaccination-response losses, so broad-spectrum control at the point of feed manufacture is critical. In ruminants, rumen microbes degrade some toxins but not aflatoxin M1 carry-over into milk, so cattle and dairy programs still require a dedicated toxin binder. In aquaculture, mycotoxins damage gut integrity and feed efficiency in fish and shrimp. Because contamination and gut damage compound each other, mycotoxin control works best alongside gut health feed additives that reinforce the intestinal lining.
Heat and humidity make mould growth and mycotoxin formation a year-round pressure across Egypt, the GCC and West Africa, where feed mills depend on imported Black Sea and South American grain. A complete mycotoxin risk management program pairs binders with mould control: VersaMold and other feed quality additives inhibit mould in stored feed before toxins form, while intake testing establishes the contamination baseline. VeritasVet also supplies custom vitamin and mineral premixes for a complete nutrition package.
