VersAcid FL Plus — Synergistic Fatty Acid Solution feed additive by VeritasVet

VersAcid FL Plus | Versacid FL Plus Fatty Acid Blend for Feed & Gut Health

Synergistic Fatty Acid Solution — Enhancing Animal Health and Performance

VersaAcid FL Plus (also searched as Versacid FL Plus) is a dual-action fatty acid blend that combines short and medium-chain organic acids to deliver both feed preservation and digestive support in a single product. Applied at 1–3 L per tonne of feed, it inhibits mold and bacterial contamination in stored feed while simultaneously promoting gut health, balancing intestinal microbiota, and improving feed conversion efficiency in poultry, swine, and ruminant operations.

Key Benefits

  • Enhanced Gut Health — promotes balanced gut microbiota by inhibiting harmful bacteria
  • Improved Nutrient Absorption — increases feed digestibility for better nutrient utilization
  • Natural Antimicrobial Properties — formic and lactic acids reduce pathogens within the gastrointestinal tract
  • Boosts Immune Response — natural components contribute to greater resilience against diseases

How It Works

  • Formic Acid — strong antimicrobial inhibits harmful bacteria yeasts and molds
  • Lactic Acid — maintains healthy pH for optimal digestion
  • Citric Acid — natural preservative contributing to formulation stability
  • Capric and Caprylic Acids — strong antimicrobial effects and energy source promoting beneficial bacteria

Dosage

1–3 kg per ton of feed. Suitable for ruminants poultry and swine.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the difference between VersaAcid FL Plus and standard acidifiers?

VersaAcid FL Plus is a liquid blend of short and medium-chain fatty acids (primarily C6, C8, C10, and C12) combined with essential oils. Unlike standard acidifiers that primarily work in the upper GI tract, the fatty acid blend provides both gastric acidification and antimicrobial activity throughout the intestinal tract.

Can VersaAcid FL Plus be applied to feed as a top dressing?

Yes, VersaAcid FL Plus can be applied as a liquid top dressing to feed at 1–3 L/tonne of finished feed using standard liquid application equipment. This approach is particularly useful for poultry operations using mash feeds and provides both mold inhibition and gut health benefits.

Is VersaAcid FL Plus effective against mold in stored feed?

Yes, the medium-chain fatty acids (C8–C12) in VersaAcid FL Plus have proven antifungal activity against Aspergillus, Penicillium, and Fusarium species. Application at 2–3 L/tonne to finished feed significantly reduces mold growth and mycotoxin production during storage, especially in warm and humid conditions.

What species benefit most from VersaAcid FL Plus supplementation?

VersaAcid FL Plus provides the greatest benefits for poultry (broilers, layers, and breeders) where intestinal pathogen control and feed hygiene are critical. It is also highly effective for swine, particularly in nursery and grower phases where gut health challenges are most prevalent.

Does VersaAcid FL Plus have an effect on rumen fermentation?

VersaAcid FL Plus can be used in ruminants at lower inclusion rates (0.5–1 L/tonne of feed or 50–100 mL/head/day) to support rumen fermentation. The buffered formulation allows it to pass through the rumen while still providing antimicrobial benefits in the lower GI tract.
