Versamixx Dairy is a custom vitamin, chelated trace mineral and functional additive premix for dairy cattle, beef cattle and small ruminants. Each formula is developed against your herd's yield level, forage base and transition-period challenges, then produced in the EU under GMP+ conditions.
Ruminant micronutrition is dominated by two things the premix has to answer: the metabolic load of the transition period, and the mineral antagonisms created by your specific forage and water. A generic mineral blend cannot address either; a formulated premix can.
Formulation Scope
- Fat-soluble vitamins — A, D3 and E, with elevated vitamin E specification available for transition cows and for herds with limited access to fresh forage.
- Macro minerals — calcium, phosphorus, magnesium, sodium and chloride, balanced to your ration and, where required, to a negative DCAD close-up specification.
- Trace minerals — zinc, copper, manganese, cobalt, iodine and selenium. Chelated forms are specified where molybdenum, sulphur or iron in forage and water antagonise copper and zinc uptake.
- Functional additives on request — live yeast and yeast derivatives, rumen-protected choline, buffers, mycotoxin binders and antioxidants.
- Mycotoxin management — where forage or by-product inclusion raises risk, a binder such as ToxyFix can be built directly into the premix.

What is the typical inclusion rate for a dairy premix?
Versamixx Dairy is generally formulated for 50 to 250 g per head per day, or built into a compound feed or TMR at your existing inclusion rate. The concentration is designed around how you actually feed, whether that is through the TMR, a compound feed or a top-dress.
Do you formulate separate transition and lactation premixes?
Yes. Far-off dry, close-up, fresh and lactating rations have materially different requirements, and the close-up specification in particular can be built to a negative DCAD target to support calcium mobilisation at calving.
Why would I need chelated trace minerals in a ruminant premix?
Where forage or drinking water is high in molybdenum, sulphur or iron, these antagonise copper and zinc absorption in the rumen. Chelated or organic forms bypass much of that interference, so the specified level is closer to the level actually absorbed.
Can the same premix be used for cattle and sheep?
It should not be assumed. Sheep have a much lower tolerance to dietary copper than cattle, so a cattle premix fed to sheep carries a real risk of chronic copper toxicity. We specify separate formulas.
Can a mycotoxin binder be included?
Yes. Where forage, silage or by-product inclusion raises mycotoxin risk, a binder such as ToxyFix can be built into the premix rather than dosed separately, subject to compatibility checks.
What documentation is supplied?
Technical data sheet, certificate of analysis and declaration of composition per batch, plus the certification documents required for import clearance in your market.
